Consideration for Adhesive Bonding Nitrile—Flexibility
Master Bond epoxy and polyurethane adhesives are available for bonding nitrile elastomers to each other and to dissimilar substrates. They are designed for easy dispensing and convenient curing.
One of the important considerations in such applications is the flexibility of the bond. Some of Master Bond's key products employed for bonding nitrile are EP21FL, EP21TDC-7 and EP37-3FLF. High performance EP21FL features excellent electrical insulation properties. It has a long working life, versatile cure schedule and low exotherm upon cure. Master Bond EP21TDC-7 resists vibration, thermal cycling and exposure to many chemicals. This high peel strength compound is 100% reactive and available for use in premeasured kits. Optically clear EP37-3FLF is serviceable from 4K to +250°F. Volume resistivity is >1015 ohm-cm and elongation is 150%.
